Do You “Really” Believe In Your Coaching? | The Hidden
Key to Success

Question for you…
How much do you believe in yourself as a coach?

Did you know that the #1 key to your success as a
coach long term, is how much you believe in yourself
as a coach and in the power of coaching to make a
difference in people’s lives.

THE TRICK:
You may think you believe this with all of your heart,
but do you? Can you really say with certainty…

‘Hiring me is the best thing potential clients can
possibly do for themselves!’

If you don’t believe this 100%, pay attention to the
2 ways that it’s probably costing you coaching clients…

#1) Do you ever have a feel weird during your free
coaching session? Where you want them to hire you
but you don’t feel totally ‘solid’, especially when it’s
time to talk to them about money. How likely are you
to get a new client when you feel like this?

#2) Do you let potential clients ‘off the hook’ so to
speak? Meaning, you let them procrastinate the
decision to hire you or not. As coaches, we know
that procrastination never helps people. So why do
we let people say ‘let me think about it’ when
making the decision to hire us? Or course…

Part of the reason might be a fear of putting pressure
on a potential client, That just feels icky! But, a bigger
part of the situation may be that you don’t have total
certainty that your coaching is critical to your potential
clients.

THE POWER OF CERTAINTY
When you believe 100% that hiring you is the absolute
best thing potential clients can possibly do for themselves
miraculous things happen…

A) Your desire to get hired so you can help them is so
strong that you won’t let their own stuff get in the way.
Meaning, you won’t let their fears, doubts, bad habits,
etc. get in the way of you helping them. You’ll cut through
all this ‘crap’ and reach them in a way that is strong yet gentle.

B) You’ll feel ‘rock solid’ during your free sessions, even when
talking about the money, and potential clients will feel this
and be drawn to you in a compellingly powerful way! The
result is you’ll attract more clients to want an initial free
session with you and you’ll convert more of them into
actual clients.

WHY IT’S TRUE:
‘Hiring you is the best thing they can possibly do for themselves!’
Why is this true?

Because of all the goals and dreams they have
and all of the challenges they’re facing right now: If they had
your help they would be more likely to reach their goals, and
get there faster, PLUS they’d be more likely to overcome their
frustrating challenges.

‘Hiring you is the BEST THING potential clients can do for themselves!’

ANOTHER REASON:
We don’t create our problems overnight. We usually create
them from a combination of behaviors, beliefs systems, and
habits. If a potential client is left to go back and try to solve
things on their own, they’ll likely end up creating either more
of the same or an even worse scenario. It’s up to you to do
what you can to help them decide to hire you and help them
turn things around.

THE PERFECT COACH:
There’s no reason to wait until you’re the ‘perfect coach’
for you to start believing that ‘Hiring you is the BEST THING
potential clients can do for themselves!’ You see, many
coaches get into this trap of waiting until they are
certified, or until they get ‘more training’, or a great
website, etc., etc., etc.

There is no ‘perfect coach’. There is only you.

When you are talking to a potential client, YOU
are the one that reached them to have a free
session. YOU are the one they were drawn to.
YOU are the one that is in front of them in this
moment. It is up to YOU to coach them.

THE POINT
I believe in the synchronicity of the universe. It’s
no mistake that you are reading this email right now.
Our paths are crossing for a reason. The same is
true for you and every potential client that has a
free session with you. YOU are the one to coach
them. Believe it!

Performance Anxiety for Coaches

Doesn’t it feel wonderful when you get a new client!?

I remember early in my coaching business career getting
a few new clients in a row and feeling like …

THE KING OF THE WORLD!

Until…

One of my clients wanted to stop coaching with me. In the
moment I felt OK, but later I started to feel awful. I wondered
if I did something wrong, and I started to doubt myself, my
abilities as a coach, and if coaching itself was really that valuable.

Of course, my mind was jumping to all sorts of conclusions. I
knew logically that my client leaving was about my client and not
about me. Or was it?

But the worst part of this whole situation was just beginning.

I started enrolling LESS clients into coaching with me and then I
started to worry if other clients were going to stick around or drop
out too. I’m sure it also had an impact on the quality of my coaching
because I was afraid to challenge my clients or call them on their
stuff because I didn’t want to do anything that might make them
want to quit our coaching. And worse…

I started worrying about making enough money to pay my mortgage
and even fell behind on my payments. Then I started to worry even
more about my clients staying or leaving.

I almost gave up my coaching business and on my worst day I
started thinking about getting a mindless job as a garbage man (I
was feeling very tired mentally)!

Have you ever felt ‘performance anxiety’ while coaching someone?
Wanting to make sure they got tons and tons from your work
together? Maybe even letting your sessions go on and on to give
them more.

I even thought about getting a part time job to help out with the
income. Except, how could I take a job that pays $16/hour when
I’m making $150/hour doing something I love. I just needed more
clients. Or in reality what I needed was more confidence.

It took me a while to figure out that the real problem was confidence.
But once I did, I started to study confidence-building techniques. I
became a master practitioner of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming),
and hypnotherapy (hypnosis) and learned other ways to build
powerful confidence.

And guess what? Things began to turn around. I started getting
more clients again, making more money, keeping them longer,
and feeling ‘stronger’ while coaching my clients.

If you can relate to this at all, then you’ll be happy to learn a few
of my ‘coaching confidence’ secrets.

Here is one *very huge* reminder that can increase your confidence
as a coach:

Enroll clients into 6 months or 1 year of coaching right up front!
Why?

Because people very rarely get huge results from 1 to 3 months
of coaching. The power of coaching is cumulative, meaning that the
longer the client is coached, the better the results they will see.

This locks up more reliable income for you (and helps take the
financial pressure off), AND it helps clients reap the best rewards
that coaching has to offer.

Get them to stick around long enough to see how much coaching
helps. Sure there are some areas (like coaching singles to find a
mate) that might make sense to enroll for less time (say 4 months
at a time), but for the most part sign people up for longer periods
of time.

Most people will say yes if you offer them a chance to opt out
after they try it for the first month I actually recommend giving
a money back guarantee for the first month. Why? It makes people
feel safer with the idea of trying out working with you.

=> Bottom Line: Nothing increases your confidence more than
watching your clients succeed! Keep them around long enough to
get “before and after” success stories! (This will improve your
marketing materials too).

Have you read the book ‘Power vs. Force’
by Dr. Hawkins? In this book, he lays out a
‘map of consciousness’. This is a detailed
scale of how evolved a person is (or a group

To varying degrees, most of us will pursue the second type of
challenge. These come from our goals, dreams, and desires.
But…

When achieving our goals and dreams gets tough, the

And when we do, we shrink. But…
